Yeah, a general progress bar (in the mode line) would be really nice
when downloading things or generating a large summary buffer. Showing
"25% done" (etc) in the echo area works, but it's kinda more distracting
than it needs to be. (And overwrites any "real" messages that may be
displayed.)
