Recently, when I go M-x bbdb and type in a string to search for, Emacs
has started saying:
Invalid function: (bbdb-records)
instead of showing the results.
As far as I can tell, the problem is in the "bbdb-search"-line in bbdb:
(defun bbdb (string elidep)
"Display all entries in the BBDB matching the regexp STRING
in either the name(s), company, network address, or notes."
(interactive
(list (bbdb-search-prompt "Search records %m regexp: ")
current-prefix-arg))
(let* ((bbdb-display-layout (bbdb-grovel-elide-arg elidep))
(notes (cons '* string))
(records
(bbdb-search (bbdb-records) string string string notes
nil)))
(if records
(bbdb-display-records records)
;; we could use error here, but it's not really an error.
(message "No records matching '%s'" string))))
from bbdb-com.el.
I've tried guessing on and performing random changes, but haven't found
anything that works.
Any ideas?
This is using GNU Emacs 27.0.50 (build 6, x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+
Version 3.22.30) of 2018-05-29 built from git, and bbdb 2.36-4.1 as
packaged in Debian unstable.
Best regards,
Adam
