but for various reasons the `M-d' binding prevailed.
FWIW I would make `$ $' the command. It has wonderful mnemonic value
and will fit right in with the nnmairix bindings.

That's the best argument in favor of `$'. But I think `$ $' is a nice
way of saying "spam spam spam spam spam spam wonderful spam"[1] without
angering the millions of nnmairix users out there :)
