Hmm, it just worked for me with new mail arriving from outside. Ah, I think I see the pattern. If the new mail is already marked as read, then `/ N' won't bring it into the summary buffer. To reproduce, while in a summary buffer, copy a read article from the current group to itself. Then '/ N' doesn't show the article. Or while in your Sent folder, send a message. `/ N' then doesn't show the Gcc'd copy (since I have gnus-gcc-mark-as-read set to t). I believe that `/ N' used to include all articles marked higher than the highest article seen before. Dan
