As far as I understand it "read" (in this context) means you see them in the list, but they are marked read (and skipped if you use e.g. 'n' to read the next article). If you don't want to see them in the summary at all, you need "expunge", i.e. something like setting: ,----[ C-h v gnus-summary-expunge-below RET ] | `gnus-summary-expunge-below' is a variable declared in Lisp. | -- loaded from "gnus-sum" | | Value: -9999 | | Documentation: | All articles that have a score less than this variable will be expunged. | This variable is local to the summary buffers. `---- and scoring the spam down below that number.
