Yeah, you're probably right. You can always say no or not check in mh-e.el (in our case) if your check-in is small. However, it would probably be best if only one developer were to update it. A user might not be aware we're playing the odd/even game and would be very confused to see an odd number in the X-Mailer and not see the release in our collection of tarballs. p.s.
