Subject: starttls.el does not use gnutls-cli
Date: Mon, 06 Mar 2006 11:30:06 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <87d5gz6f2p.fsf@psyche.kn-bremen.de> (raw)
Hello-hello
I'm trying to use STARTTLS for sending eMail.
starttls.el looks for "starttls" but cannot find it
(because it is not installed), but it does not use
gnutls-cli (which is installed).
(setq smtpmail-default-smtp-server "smtp.$NAME.de")
(setq smtpmail-smtp-server "smtp.$NAME.de")
(setq smtpmail-smtp-service 587)
(setq smtpmail-auth-credentials '(("smtp.$NAME.de" 587 "user" "password")))
(setq smtpmail-starttls-credentials '(("smtp.$NAME.de" 587 nil nil)))
(which, according to the documentation, should work...)
And it works with port 25, so servername, user & password are correct.
