Subject: to-address vs. to-list? (nndraft gets two articles)
Date: Thu, 31 Jan 2002 08:20:03 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <87d6zr7zrw.fsf@home.lan> (raw)
Platform: Intel PIII, debian testing, GNU Emacs 20.7.2,
Oort Gnus v0.06 (CVS from last week)
I tried posting to the nntp+news.gnus.org:gmane.os.cygwin group
yesterday. I didn't get an error message, but today the article still
hadn't shown up.
So I used the technique described in
<http://sources.redhat.com/lists.html#rbl-sucks>
to subscribe as a poster to cygwin@cygwin.com. And then I put
(to-list . "cygwin@cygwin.com")
in the group parameters of the group.
I resqued my article from the "*Sent..." and did an `a' in the group,
pasted in the Subject: and the body of the old article, and saved it.
When I was back in the *Group* buffer, I noticed that nndraft:drafts
had two articles, and not one. So I opened the group and saw that I
had both a news articled with the gmane.os.cygwin, in the newsgroup
header, and a mail article with cygwin@cygwin.com in the to header.
So my questions are:
1. is this the expected behaviour, and the news article doesn't mean
anything?
2. or is this a bug?
3. or am I misinterpreting when the to-address and to-list values
should be used?
Thanx!
- Steinar
