I've been having weird font problems occasionally with Emacs 21. On
my desktop system, every single character is a box, unless I switch
the font from the default. But I have the same software (Debian sid)
installed on my laptop, and it generally works OK there. I reported
this as a bug a while ago, and Dave Love said he'd seen the same
behavior, and also had reported it as a bug. I haven't heard anything
since then...
