If I want dates to be displayed in localtime by setting
gnus-treat-date-local it doesn't work, but using W-T-l works
fine. Same for universal time. Date header just disappears.

What did you set it to? Try 'head.

Umgh, It seems that setting gnus-treat-date-ut cuts the header. I've
had set them both to 'head. Indeed, localtime dates work okay, but UT
still don't.

You can only display the Date header in one format. If you set
several of these date treatment variables, one of them will "win".

Yes, but still UT date display only works after WTu, but not when
I set gnus-treat-date-ut to 'head.

Do you have other gnus-treat-date-* variables set?

Nope. I guess it works for you. Can upgrade to 0.91 (still current when I
write this :) help here

Are you absolutely sure? Check the values of those variables.

I don't think there's been any changes in this area between 0.90 and
0.91.
