Hi,

with the latest CVS Gnus (up-to-date) and an CVS GNU/Emacs (one week
old) i observed the following behaviour this morning on an article in a
german newsgroup:

A specific subject is displayed wrongly, and i would say that the
encoding is wrong, so gnus is right. But is is displayed ONLY wrong in
my configured gnus, when i start emacs with -q --no-site-file and
without a .gnus.el and start M-x gnus from hand, browse the server and
display the article in the summary it is displayed correctly! Also in
Thunderbird (latest) it is displayed correctly! But why?

Subject: =?iso-8859-1?Q?Re:_Sparkasse_mit_M=C3=BCnzenz=C3=A4hler=3F?=

Correctly displayed as

Subject: Re: Sparkasse mit Münzenzähler?

But "=C3=BC" is utf-8 encoding. When i change the subject to

Subject: =?utf-8?Q?Re:_Sparkasse_mit_M=C3=BCnzenz=C3=A4hler=3F?=

in a draft posting, it is displayed correctly now. What's going on here?

Best regards,
Christoph
