Subject: unicode on 8-bit terminal
Date: Wed, 05 Feb 2003 15:15:12 +0300 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <87fzr2rkj3.fsf@pale.sj.ru> (raw)
Hello.
One more problem I have it that when I read unicode/latin1 messages in X
everything is just fine. It seems that gnus replace my koi8-r fonts
with appropriate ones, but if I try to read it on console/in xterm/ssh
session I got all non 7-bit characters just missing.
I do not expect to get pure iso8859-1 on koi8-r terminal, but if I get
cyrillic mail, where cyrillic is encoded in utf-8 it will be great to
have it reencoded to koi8-r and displayed. Is this possible?
Thanks,
