In practice though, 99% of your mail is either whitelisted or sent to a dated address. As for stopping spam, of course it does. It stops spam from getting into your inbox. Do you actually have a suggestion for something which will stop spam for good? I suspect it's something which will never go away. Even if the burden of transmission shifted from the receiver to the sender, it will only get worse. Look at at your US mail for an example of that! -- Josh Huber
