Can't fetch parent article

Somehow I can't fetch parent articles using nnspool backend. This
happens when I mark an article as read, leave with q and come back to
try to find the already read parent with ^. Before leaving the group
the parent can still be found. It happend somewhere in p90s, I guess.

I'm seeing this happen as well, and it's definitely not a case of the
articles having been expunged/expired in the mean time.

It works, sorry. The invaluable Deniz Dogan instructed me to set
gnus-fetch-old-headers to 'invisible and to correct my
nnspool-nov-directory to value more approriate for slrnpull.

Is this a case of the articles Expunging before you expect them to vanish?
Do the parent articles appear if you enter the group with 'C-u RET' or 
'C-u SPC'?  If not, the parents were expunged the last time you left the
group.
