Where are you typing your text for the email? It sounds like you are typing it in before the "--text follows this line--" line in the Message buffer. Anything before that line should be an email header, i.e. something like Subject: or To:. Indeed. Thanks for pointing this out. The problem is that I split all gnus email into one group but then associate this group with ding. Ummmm need to be more careful, I guess.
