I use the following code to put my sent box on IMAP server.

(let ((imap-method
       (catch 'found-imap-method
	 (let ((methods (cons gnus-select-method
			      gnus-secondary-select-methods)))
	   (while methods
	     (when (eq (caar methods) 'nnimap)
	       (throw 'found-imap-method (car methods)))
	     (setq methods (cdr methods)))))))
  (when imap-method
    (setq gnus-message-archive-method imap-method
	  gnus-message-archive-group "Sent")))

I can share the same sent box between Gnus and other MUAs using this

I also tried a similar trick to put my draft box on IMAP server, but
failed.
