hi
i wrote to this list some time back of a gnus problem with
imap...expired messages showing up in my groups that were not on the
imap server, and could not be read. i later found out that these were
being cached in the News dir. is there a way to disable this caching?
optimally i want to treat my imap server as the single source of truth
for messages. thanks!

Sounds like you've enabled the agent for the imap server. Hit ^ in
*Group* to enter the server buffer and if it's really agentized, hit `J
r' on its line.
