Subject: Expiry changes?
Date: Thu, 18 Jul 2002 06:21:52 -0400 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <87heix72v3.fsf@nwalsh.com> (raw)
I must have missed a memo. I've been running oort for a while and
expiry has been working the way I expect (delete all my old read
mail). But I noticed the other day that it wasn't working. So I
upgraded from CVS yesterday. No change. So I read some archived mail
in ding (there was quite a bit as it hasn't been expiring :-) and
changed a few group parameters. No change. Hmmm.
My group parameters for ding look like this:
((timestamp 15670 38322)
(to-list . "ding@gnus.org")
(total-expire . t)
(expiry-wait . 30)
(expiry-target . delete))
If I enter the (nnml) group with C-u space, I see lots of old mail
(some more than six weeks old). Most of it marked 'O', but some of it
marked 'E' (from when I fiddled with auto-expire, I think). When I
leave the group, none of it gets deleted.
Obvious user error, probably. But not obvious to me, alas.
Be seeing you,
norm
