Is there something similar to a keep-alive signal used elsewhere in networking that could apply to nntp servers. OH, and just reporting here that closing servers first, then 'g' is a work-around that has also solved the problem for me. Thanks. And thanks to whoever posted the original suggestion... before Ted and Eric gave more handy ways to do it.
