I telnetted into my imap server on the imap port, typed:
1 LOGIN "username" "password"
2 SELECT "name-of-mailbox"
3 UID SEARCH TEXT "test"
When this succeeded, I tried to figure out what was different between
that an what was in my *imap-log* buffer. Noting the extra space, I
tried typing that in, and got the expected failure.
