After a week away, where I have been using a laptop which only checks
emails on a couple of my accounts, I have come back to my desktop system
which checks emails on a few others. I am getting the following error
message:
,----
| Warning: Unable to open server nnimap+XXX due to: Symbol's function
| definition is void: gnus-delete-duplicates; Unable to open server
| nnimap+YYY due to: Symbol's function definition is void:
| gnus-delete-duplicates; Unable to open server nnimap+ZZZ due to:
| Symbol's function definition is void: gnus-delete-duplicates
`----
XXX and YYY are both gmail accounts; ZZZ is not.
I am using an up to date gnus from git. I wonder if this commit has
something to do with my problem?

Any suggestions welcome!
Thanks,

To followup my own message (sorry), gnus now works. I re-started
emacs. Must have been some inconsistency in the state of the newsrc.eld
file? It's the only thing I can imagine would have changed between one
start of emacs and the next...
Apologies for the noise.

Well, seems I got the same problem, but restarting emacs doesn't help
here :(
Here is the log. I checked out gnus from the Git repo this morning
(bleeding !). Old gnus (comes with CarbonEmacs here) still works.
Opening connection to mail.me.com via tls...
Opening TLS connection to `mail.me.com'...
Opening TLS connection with `gnutls-cli --insecure -p 993 mail.me.com'...done
Opening TLS connection to `mail.me.com'...done
Unable to open server nnimap+ecocode due to: Symbol's function definition is void: gnus-delete-duplicates
nnimap (ecocode) open error: ''. Continue? (y or n) n
Couldn't open server on ecocode
Warning: Unable to open server nnimap+ecocode due to: Symbol's function definition is void: gnus-delete-duplicates
Any ideas ?

found it.
I had to put the following lines
(setq load-path (cons (expand-file-name "~/emacslib/gnus/lisp") load-path))
(require 'gnus-load)
before
(require 'weblogger)
instead of after it. Must be some incompatibility somewhere...

Maybe weblogger.el uses url-*.el which uses auth-source.el.
