I recently noticed that two extra newlines are somehow appended to the
end of each message I post to the ding list.  (It seems this happens
to others' messages, too.)  Anyone know why?

It still seems to be happening.  Could it be the mail-to-news
conversion thingie?  I doesn't happen when posting to gnus.test, for
instance.
