Subject: Picking up mail already opened elsewhere
Date: Tue, 19 Jul 2022 19:37:41 -1000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <87lesobaze.fsf@undisclosedlocation.com> (raw)
Aloha,
If I fetch new mail (let's say from my Gmail INBOX, which is
the most common thing) then I've noticed the following
situation (and am surprised I didn't notice it long ago).
If I have already opened the mail on the Gmail web interface,
gnus won't fetch it, since it runs a "get-new-news" function
and apparently, at least to IMAP, that mail is old news, not
new news.
Is there a way around this (aside from totally avoiding the
web interface)? In other words can I open the mail on the web
and then still get Gnus to fetch it?
I can't quite work it out as yet. If I quit Gnus and restart,
the mail comes in, so I'm trying to see how that functions.
Mahalo for any insights,
