Gentlemen, when one uses
T H runs the command gnus-summary-hide-all-threads
and one's gnus-summary-line-format is:
"%U%R%z%I%(%t %3{%~(cut-left 2)~(max-right 6)~(pad 6)o%}%3L|%us|%-14,14f%)%3{%un%}:%s\n"
one will see:
O 3 081217 53||Rui Miguel SilN:Re: [Illume/Debian] How to customize Illume?...
O 2 081217 50||Yorick Moko N:Re: [ANNOUNCE] Neon 0.9 : Code name 'Minimal'...

However I want to make those dots not three, but instead:
%t Number of articles under the current thread (number),
perhaps multiplied by a factor, say 2.
Ah, if only one could change one or both of
%> Spaces of length thread-level (string)
%I Indentation based on thread level (a string of spaces)
into dots, just from one's .gnus.el. Of course I'll mostly in
T S runs the command gnus-summary-show-all-threads
mode, so whatever fix shouldn't affect that.
