Never seen this before:
when calling gnus-group-exit, following messages appear:
Saving Gnus registry (4720 entries) to ~/Documents/gnus/.gnus.registry.eieio...
eieio-override-prin1: Apparently circular structure being printed

Can you tell me which Emacs version you're using? And which version you
updated from?

GNU Emacs 27.0.50 (build 2, x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.18.9)
which I build on Ubuntu 16.04

If you toggle debug-on-error, do you get a traceback? I'm not sure why
that error message is only coming through as a warning.
We'll probably have to take this to emacs.devel, but it would be good to
gather as much info as possible.
