A simple workaround for that particular mailing list, is to add
"news.gnus.org" as an nntp server in the server buffer, open it with
RET or SPACE, and press `u' on the gnus.ding newsgroup. 

Of course, this won't help you with other list, but you may be lucky
finding them on the NNTP server news.gmane.org.

If you don't find your lists there, you can subscribe then with this form:
	<http://gmane.org/subscribe.php>
