Subject: Thread gathering and subject matching

How come Gnus is clever enough to put most of the posts into a single thread,
but not clever enough to avoid repeating the same subject in my summary buffer
a dozen times? And there doesn't seem to be any pattern, some orphans have the
subject some don't, some non-orphans do, some don't.

Also, how come it managed to reparent enough of them but about a page lower
there are three more, that it missed?

Obviously I haven't enough information to actually fix the bug from this
report, but I'm wondering if this is just a known problem that everyone sees
or is this quirk actually peculiar to me?

I'm using pGnus 0.99 and this group is an nnml mail folder filtered by
procmail. I have the relevant variables (*-make-false-root et al) set to their
defaults I believe.
