Hi again,

I wonder if anybody has a working gnus-icalendar setup with german
umlauts. I see the following if the vcal attachment consists utf-8 coded
umlauts:

,----
| Summary: Kl\303\244rung der Fragen
| Location: +4969 2222 16176 #266 4422 313
| Time: <2013-11-29 Fri 10:30-11:30>
| Attendance: Optional
| Method: REQUEST
| Status: Not replied yet
|
| Hallo,
|
| nach Abgleich der Kalender ist es doch vor Freitag nicht m\303\266glich
| gewesen einen passenden Termin zu finden.
`----

The rest of the buffer (headers etc) shows umlauts as usual, only the
vcalendar entries plus description are affected.
The buffer coding system is utf-8-unix

Can you help?

regards, Mario

Hm, that did not help :( I have the same utf-8-unix encoding setup and
have no trouble with umlauts.

Can you perhaps create and send new appointment, with my email as an
attendee? So I get to play with the original ical, not a copy-pasted
one.

I've just sent an invitation via outlook, and this one works
perfectly. Everything looks nice (even the time, my other issu) ...

I'm a little bit confused now.

If you look inside the actual ics attachment, you will notice the
product id and the timezone name differ from the calendar you've got
trouble with.

Looks like issue with on the side of the sender, whoever sent that
appointment to you. If you can get me another appointment sent from that
source, I will look into it. But I will need the original attachment,
not a copy/paste version.

Got the other invitation as well, but it's the same one, pretty much -
the timezone is W. Europe Standard time, so no problem parsing it.

The one you had problems with was different, most likely came from a
different Exchange server (the PRODID value differs), with different
setup.
