Ok, I had three _deleted_conflicts conses, and I had to remove all of them, before I was allowed to do a gnus-sync-save. When I did a gnus-sync-save, the minibuffer got a lot of these: gnus-sync-lesync-post-save-group-entry: use `gnus-sync-read' to resolve the conflict synchronizing nntp+news.gmane.org:gmane.comp.db.postgresql.german to http://lesync.bang.priv.no/sb: Document update conflict. One for each group handled by the gnus-sync, it looks like. The *Messages* buffer has overflowed with them. If I do gnus-sync-read, I suspect two things will happen: 1. I will lose my recent tick marks 2. I will again be unable to save because of the "wrong-type-argument number-or-marker-p" issue I will try doing a gnus-sync-read and report back what happened.
