c runs the command gnus-summary-catchup-and-exit, which is an
interactive compiled Lisp function in `gnus-sum.el'.
However it leaves the message
Mark all unread articles as read? (y or n) y
sitting around in the minibuffer even though we are now starting at a
new buffer.

I've now reinstated the message-clearing y-or-n-p functions which are
used when appropriate. Like here.
