If I follow these steps, I end up in a buffer containing the messages
I just posted.

1) Open a newsgroup... (I used `test' on the standard usenet groups.

2-3) Compose and post a message, when that finishes there are no
unread messages,

4) then I call:
 `gnus-summary-rescan-group' by pressing Alt+g

5) Then hit enter.

I land in a message-mode buffer containing the message I just posted.

It's thoroughly repeatable on two different machines

`gnus-current-window-configuration' wasn't restored after sending the
message. I've now added that, so this may work now.

If I run `git clone http://git.gnus.org/gnus.git' should I be getting
the fixed one?
