Actually, no. I get no directory fetching at all with 0.75. The
folloing is the pertinent part of my ~/.gnus.el

Leaving the nnmail-* variables uncommented resulted in a backtrace
(which I can send if you want). From the manual I'd though the
mail-sppol-file spec above would have worked.
