I'll try to make the releases at "sweet points", Lars> where no major new bugs have been introduced lately (i.e., more than Lars> four days after I've written any new code. :-) What is the collective opinion about a wider dissemination of one of these sweet point releases? I package Gnus for Debian, and the official Gnus package is for version 5.8.8, released on Jan 4 2001, and it lacks lots of nifty things that have been developed in oort. Also, emacs21 comes with 5.9.0, and I've been deluged by questions why the supposedly more up to date stand alone version is older than the bundled version (which caused a flurry of problems until the packaging was corrected). However, I from the last time I packaged a development version, I know better than to just silently do so ;-( Are we close to the end of the oort arc, or could we have an interim semi-stable release that can be packaged in the meantime? manoj -- I am not an Economist.
