There are some variables you can tweak:
; Old style forwarding:
(setq message-forward-as-mime nil)
(setq message-forward-ignored-headers "^Content-Transfer-Encoding:\\|^X-Gnus\\|^X-From-Line\\|^Return-Path\\|^X-\\|^Delivered-To\\|^Received\\|^Lines\\|^Xref")
(the latter you probably want to add a lot more to).
