There are two types of IMAP clients. Those that believe phony RFC822.SIZEs, and those that aren't so easily suckered. Sure hope gnus is in the latter group. $ zgrep -l RFC822.SIZE * imap.el.gz nnimap.el.gz but I didn't check further, as I use getmail myself.
