If you need to force CRLF or use pgg-as-lbt on the region, then you also need to inform GnuPG that the block is --textmode, or I am back to my original problem. Even if you do introduce pgg-test-mode, I do not understand how running the region through pgg-as-lbt before pgg-gpg-encrypt-region is called allows me to encrypt binary data attachments.
