Subject: active file for foreign groups not read?
Date: Thu, 21 Mar 1996 11:58:21 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <9603211058.AA13459@teamos30.aachendom> (raw)
Hi,
somewhere between 0.3x and 0.54 the active file for groups on a
foreign server are not read anymore. I browsed a bit through the
variables but could not find what I do wrong.
I set:
(setq gnus-nntp-server nil)
(setq gnus-select-method '(nntp "erinews"))
(setq gnus-secondary-select-methods '((nntp "roda") (nnfolder "")))
(setq gnus-activate-foreign-newsgroups gnus-level-subscribed)
According to the docs of gnus-activate-foreign-newsgroups this should
show me the number of new articles on the foreign groups, but there's
just a '*', and the active file is not read. Getting the number via
'M-g' for the foreign groups on "roda" works.
Can anybody tell what has changed meanwhile?
Best regards
Klaus
