Every time I enter emacs and fire-up gnus, it claims that I have 4 new messages in nnbabyl:mail.etc. When I enter the group, there are no new messages. There are 65 ticked messages. If I then leave and re-enter the group, it is o.k. However, if I exit and re-enter emacs, the problem comes back. Looking at my newsrc.eld file, I see : ("nnbabyl:mail.etc" 2 ((1 . 69)) ((tick (1 . 65))) (nnbabyl "")) ^^ When I exit and re-enter emacs, I see: ("nnbabyl:mail.etc" 2 ((1 . 73)) ((tick (1 . 65))) (nnbabyl "")) ^^ This goes up by 4 each time. I have tried setting it to 65 by hand, but the same thing happens. The same sort of thing happens with the rmail-box.active file. I do not know if this is relevant, but mail.etc is the default place for incoming mail: (setq gnus-secondary-select-methods '((nnbabyl ""))) (setq nnmail-split-methods '( ("mail.vms-emacs" "^To:.*vms-emacs-testers") ("mail.vms-emacs" "^Apparently-To:.*vms-emacs-testers") ("mail.linux-il" "^To:.*Linux-il@") ("mail.vms-software" "^Subject:.*FILESERV@WKU") ("mail.vms-software" "^To:.*MadGoat-Announce") ("mail.vms-software" "^Sender:.*[Mm]ad[Gg]oat") ("mail.security" "^To:.*[cC][eE][rR][tT]") ("mail.aruzt7" "^To:.*arutz-7") ("mail.gnus" "^From:.*ding") ("mail.gnus" "^To:.*ding") ("mail.gnus" "^Cc:.*ding") ("mail.gnus" "^To:.*larsi@ifi.uio.no") ("mail.gnus" "^From:.*larsi@ifi.uio.no") ("mail.osf" "^To:.*osf-managers") ("mail.gel" "^To:.*cygnus") ("mail.gel" "^From:.*cygnus") ("mail.gel" "^Cc:.*cygnus") ("mail.osf" "^From:.*osf-managers") ("mail.from_me" "^From:.*aharon@.*health.gov.il") ("mail.matat" "^From:.*YEHAVI") ("mail.matat" "^From:.*health.gov.il") ("mail.matat" "^To:.*YEHAVI") ("mail.etc" "") ^^^^^^^^ ) ) (setq nnmail-crosspost nil) TIA. -- The day is short, and the work is great, | Aharon Schkolnik and the laborers are lazy, and the reward | Aharon@Matat.Health.Gov.IL is great, and the Master of the house is | impatient. - Ethics Of The Fathers Ch. 2 |
