I select a section from a mail message, then press F I get a message-mode buffer with that section yanked into it. All cool and good. Make my comments and C-c C-c Next thing I see my message appear on a mail list but it is on a completely different thread than it should be. It appears as a reply to someting completely different and the message I sent, now contains a Reference to this different message rather than the one yanked into it. I've inlined full header from both messages. The first is the message I was trying to reply to The second is my replay as it appeared on the group. This is the message I had in article buffer when I pressed F (Sorry about the full headers, but wasn't sure what might be relevant) ======================================== X-From-Line: bounce-debian-user=reader=newsguy.com@lists.debian.org Wed Mar 6 08:50:07 2002 Return-Path: Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by reader.local.lan (8.11.6/8.11.6) with ESMTP id g26Go7r12138 for ; Wed, 6 Mar 2002 08:50:07 -0800 Received: from 209.155.56.72 [209.155.56.72] by localhost with POP3 (fetchmail-5.9.0) for reader@localhost (single-drop); Wed, 06 Mar 2002 08:50:07 -0800 (PST) Received: from murphy.debian.org (murphy.debian.org [216.234.231.6]) by newsguy.com (8.9.1a/8.9.1) with SMTP id IAA94576 for ; Wed, 6 Mar 2002 08:46:08 -0800 (PST) Resent-Date: Wed, 6 Mar 2002 08:46:08 -0800 (PST) Received: (qmail 19569 invoked by uid 38); 6 Mar 2002 16:39:13 -0000 X-Envelope-Sender: kmself@ix.netcom.com Received: (qmail 19391 invoked from network); 6 Mar 2002 16:39:06 -0000 Received: from smtp10.atl.mindspring.net (207.69.200.246) by murphy.debian.org with SMTP; 6 Mar 2002 16:39:06 -0000 Received: from dialup-63.208.133.77.dial1.sanfrancisco1.level3.net ([63.208.133.77] helo=localhost) by smtp10.atl.mindspring.net with esmtp (Exim 3.33 #1) id 16ieRQ-0008A1-00 for debian-user@lists.debian.org; Wed, 06 Mar 2002 11:39:01 -0500 Received: from karsten by localhost with local (Exim 3.34 #1 (Debian)) id 16ieRP-0007E0-00 for ; Wed, 06 Mar 2002 08:38:59 -0800 Date: Wed, 6 Mar 2002 08:38:58 -0800 To: debian-user@lists.debian.org Subject: Re: Fetchmail starts to poll, then times out X-Gnus-Mail-Source: directory:/home/reader/spool/ Message-ID: <20020306163858.GB26433@ix.netcom.com> References: <200203061545.g26Fj7a17282@ego.mind.net> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="nVMJ2NtxeReIH9PS" Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <200203061545.g26Fj7a17282@ego.mind.net> User-Agent: Mutt/1.3.27i X-Debian-GNU-Linux: Rocks X-Kuro5hin-cabal: There is no K5 cabal X-GPG-Fingerprint: F932 8B25 5FDD 2528 D595 DC61 3847 889F 55F2 B9B0 X-GPG-Mobile-Fingerprint: 4DDD AEF7 97EF 7698 BDC8 C8C6 56CA A7B5 8456 D8DD From: "Karsten M.
