Hi,

I'm trying to subscribe to any newsgroup from gmane.org but I keep
getting the following error:

gnus-group-unsubscribe-group: No such newsgroup: nntp+news.gmane.org:gmane.emacs.w3m

Steps I follow:

In the *group* buffer I hit `M-d' and get a list of gmane.org available
newsgroups, I then hit `u' over any item of the list.

I'm running Gnus v5.13 and GNU Emacs 24.0.50.2

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Hm, how did you set up `gnus-select-method' (or
`gnus-secondary-select-methods') for news.gmane.org ? If Gmane
is a primary server (i.e. using `gnus-select-method'), the group
name should not be prefixed with "nntp+news.gmane.org:", I think.
If it's one of the secondary servers, I don't know how to open
groups' descriptions buffer for the server. Anyway I have no
problem on subscribing to a group in the primary server by the
`u' command in the groups' descriptions buffer.

How about this way instead?

Hit `^' in the group buffer to enter to the server buffer.
Move cursor to the {nntp:news.gmane.org} line and hit SPC.
Find the gmane.emacs.w3m group and hit `u'.
Hit `q' twice.

Now you are in the group buffer and should see the w3m group
somewhere in the buffer.
