encryption problem using gpg

hi. i am trying to use gpg/pgp to encrypt an email message (to
myself, for testing purposes). signing seems to work.

i use the command sequence C-c C-m c o and upon typing C-c C-c (send), 
i get the following message (sorry it is garbled, i thought it would
be best to preserve all of the output):

PGG you use is the one bundled with SEMI, not Gnus.  The possible
solution is to uninstall SEMI or to give a priority to Gnus in
`load-path'.
