I don't like the new interface as well. Much of the available space
is taken by unnecessary cruft (as you wrote before), proportional
fonts are used, search strings like "foo-bar" are not equivalent to
"foo-bar\|foobar\|foo\s-bar" anymore, matching articles of a single
thread are scattered over the search results etc. pp.
So currently I am using <URL:http://groups.google.de/grphp?hl=en>
which still has the old interface, and is in English. Other language
sites will probably behave this way, too. But for how long ...
