Er, well actually the reason was that pgg was all screwed up (at least at the time, the 5.10 and gnus trunk versions of pgg seemed to have diverged to the point where merging was a real puzzle). I eventually gave up trying to merge it, and planned to try to find a pgg person to do it, but maybe Katsumi has done it? I'll give another shot at merging 5.10 into the trunk... BTW, if anyone's interested in arch, my arch branches of gnus are now hosted on savannah, so theoretically, any gnus hacker that has emacs write privs on savannah can directly commit to the arch branches there...
