Most of you should see in summary buffer my 'from' as:
 aciej "SomthingHere" Matysiak
I mean, the first letter is eaten somehow.
In my gnus-summary-line-format I use %f.

Is this a bug, or misuse of "'s?

The " character is not valid where you use it according to the
standards. You should really call yourself

"Maciej \"SomethingHere\" Matysiak" <phoner@blah.pl>

and news readers should strip away the surrounding "'s and the \'s in
there.

Anyway. Gnus uses a very simple (and efficient) method to extract the
components. See the "Summary Buffer Format" node in the Gnus manual
for details on how to get correct results.

no no. i'm not using such scheme at all. i know it's evil. but one can't
teach all who are using pure "'s, and unfortunately there's quite a lot such
misbehaving people :(
