Approaches like DCC and Vipul's Razor seems a little more pragmatic, yes, while *hashcash is more of a experiment. After reading more on the stuff, I'm now using SpamAssassin connected via SpamAssassMilter to Sendmail which seems to be quite effective (well, for the last 20 minutes I have been running it, that is :-)). It also doesn't have the negative consequences that TMDA has (funny looking email address).
