I want to create a new nnimap group called `INBOX/todo'.
So I enter the Group buffer and press `G m'. I enter the
name `INBOX/todo' but I am told that this name is not
allowed.
Subscribing to previously created groups named accordingly
(`INBOX/xxx') works fine.
Creating a group called `todo' also works fine.

Does frobbing `gnus-invalid-group-regexp' help?
`gnus-invalid-group-regexp'
Regexp to match "invalid" group names when querying user for a
group name. The default value catches some *really* invalid group
names who could possibly mess up Gnus internally (like allowing
`:' in a group name, which is normally used to delimit method and
group).
IMAP users might want to allow `/' in group names though.
