I haven't seen it mentioned but I think mailcap/mimetype support is
fundamental.

TM only gave me headaches when I wanted to get fancy and configure it
to my liking. Semignus shares my mailcap/mimetype with Netscape and
things work smoothly.

Semignus also does most of the things I've seen mentioned here.
