Try M-x load-library RET mail-source.el RET and M-: (setq
debug-on-signal t) RET before starting Gnus to get a better backtrace.
Cut all backtrace you get and press 'c' in the backtrace window until
it bugs out completely.

Are you using latest Oort in CVS?  (Your headers says something else.)

The *imap-log* stuff looks OK.
