Could you evaluate `(setq imap-log "*imap-log*")', enter some group, delete some articles, leave the group, enter the group again and verify that the supposedly deleted articles in fact are still there, and then mail me the content of the *imap-log* buffer? Btw, what's the value of your `nnimap-expunge-on-close' variable?
