Maybe I misunderstand: for me the authentication part is instantaneous, which is why it doesn't seem to warrant any kind of progress indication. The act of connecting does take time, but this one already has messages telling me what's going on. So maybe the issue is that your authentication steps somehow take up more time? Stefan
